What content does the LSAT cover? The LSAT exam consists of five, 35-minute sections, including an unscored experimental section. The experimental section may comprise any of the three question types: Logical Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, or Reading Comprehension. An unscored essay is administered at the end of the exam.

Two of the four scored sections are in Logical Reasoning (also called Arguments). These require you to read and comprehend a series of short passages and answer one question about each. There is one Analytical Reasoning (or Games) section. You are asked to make deductions from a set of statements, rules, or conditions that describe relationships among entities such as persons, places, things, or events. There is also one Reading Comprehension section.

How is the LSAT scored? Scores range from 120 to 180. The essay will not receive a score; however it will be forwarded to schools along with the score report. All test scores are submitted to requested schools.

If I did well on my SAT, does that mean I'll do well on the LSAT? If you did well on your SAT, you're probably good at taking standardized tests. This will help on the LSAT. However, the LSAT is a completely different exam from the SAT, so the two cannot be compared. The LSAT does not test math or grammar, which constitutes two-thirds of the SAT. Instead, it tests logical reasoning ability. With preparation and practice, you can increase your scores. Call us and one of our educational consultants would be happy to speak with you about a personalized program recommendation.

How long is my LSAT score valid? Although LSAT scores are valid for five years, many schools would like to see scores from within the past two to three years. Check with your schools for their preferences.

Where will tutoring take place? If you live in the New York, Boston, or Philadelphia areas, your tutor will meet where it's convenient for you, whether that's in your home, at a nearby library, or in our office. If you do not live near one of these cities, our tutors can work with you online through our Inspirica Anywhere program. They also travel nationally and internationally to work with students in-person through Custom Trips.
